In the Spring of 2005, we were on the search for a bull that would bring it all together. We were looking for a bull that had strong carcass potential, moderate stature, and strong maternal traits to leave his daughters. And well we found him! Pay Off was our pick of the many bulls that we looked at that spring, he is jammed full of muscle, loose in his structure, and has a ton of capacity. Pay Off blends calving ease with the carcass performance of Future Direction and Bushwhacker. When you study his phenotype you have to be impressed with his depth of heel, his amazingly thick top, and did I mention capacity. After walking with our heifers in 2005, he was still in phenomenal shape, and that gets me excited about his daughters, the should be moderately sized cows, with lots of milk and lots of depth, "the easy doing kind". When visiting with Col. Steve Dorran, he said his grandmother is one of the great cows of the breed, and that was apparent on sale day with all the purebred folks who were there. We were fortunate enough to purchase Pay Off and are excited about our new partnership with good friends of ours the Olsen's of Ole Farms in Athabasca.
